But when you're sitting on your caldera terrace at dawn with Greek coffee, watching the Aegean turn from pink to gold, or tasting assyrtiko wine while the sun sets behind the volcanic islands, or swimming in the Aegean with black cliffs rising behind you—that's when you understand why people propose here.

My advice as a local? Stay at least 3 nights. Don't just stay in Oia. Rent a car or ATV and explore. Do a wine tour. Watch sunset from Santo Wines or a quiet spot in Imerovigli. Eat at local tavernas in Pyrgos. Visit in May or September. That's when you'll fall in love with Santorini, not just photograph it.
