Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-04-17

Effective Date: 2026-04-17

At Adventure Knit, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and what rights you have. We wrote this in plain language so you can understand exactly what happens with your data.

1 Information We Collect

We collect information in a few different ways. Here is a breakdown of the categories:

a) Information You Give Us

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Payment details (processed by Stripe — we never see your full card number)
  • Booking history and tour preferences
  • Account login credentials
  • Any messages you send to clubs or to our support team

b) Information Collected Automatically

  • IP address
  • Browser type and version
  • Device information (phone, tablet, or computer)
  • Pages you visit and how long you stay
  • Referring website or link
  • Approximate location (country/city level)

c) Information from Third Parties

  • Stripe (payment confirmation status)
  • Google or social login providers (if you use social sign-in)
  • Club operators (booking confirmations and reviews)

2 How We Use Your Information

We use your data for these purposes:

  • To provide our service. Processing bookings, sending confirmations, and connecting you with tour clubs.
  • To communicate with you. Booking updates, policy changes, and support responses. We will not spam you.
  • To improve our platform. Understanding how people use the site helps us make it better.
  • For safety and fraud prevention. We monitor for suspicious activity to protect everyone.
  • To meet legal obligations. Some laws require us to keep records or report certain activities.

3 Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), GDPR requires us to tell you the legal basis for processing your data. We rely on these grounds:

Contract Performance

Processing your booking and providing the service you signed up for.

Legitimate Interest

Improving our platform, preventing fraud, and sending relevant service updates.

Consent

Marketing emails and optional cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Legal Obligation

Tax records, financial reporting, and responding to lawful requests from authorities.

4 Sharing with Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with partners who help us run the platform:

Stripe

Stripe (Payment Processing)

Processes your payments securely. They receive your card details directly — we only store a token reference. See stripe.com/privacy for their policy.

Email

Email Service Provider

Sends booking confirmations and notifications on our behalf. They only see your email address and name.

Clubs

Tour Clubs & Operators

When you book a tour, the club sees your name, contact info, group size, and booking details. They need this to run the tour.

Legal

Legal & Regulatory Authorities

If required by law, court order, or government regulation, we may disclose data to authorities. We only share what is legally necessary.

5 Data Retention

We keep your data only as long as we need it. Here is our approach:

  • Active accounts: All data is kept while your account is active.
  • Closed accounts: We delete personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep it for legal reasons.
  • Booking records: Kept for 7 years for tax and accounting purposes (required by law).
  • Marketing data: Deleted within 30 days of you withdrawing consent or unsubscribing.
  • Analytics data: Anonymized or deleted after 26 months.

6 Your Rights

Under GDPR (Articles 15–22) and other data protection laws, you have the following rights. To exercise any of them, contact us at support@adventureknit.com.

If any of your data is wrong or incomplete, you can ask us to fix it. You can also update most of this yourself in your account settings.

Art. 17

Right to Erasure ("Right to Be Forgotten")

You can ask us to delete your personal data. We will do so unless we are legally required to keep it (for example, financial records).

Art. 20

Right to Data Portability

You can ask for your data in a machine-readable format (like JSON or CSV) so you can take it to another service.

Art. 21

Right to Object

You can object to us processing your data based on "legitimate interest." We will stop unless we have a compelling reason to continue.

Art. 22

Rights Related to Automated Decisions

You have the right not to be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing that significantly affect you. We do not currently make such decisions.
