Tour Overview
This is a four-day, three-night safari in Tanzania that links three parks: Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater. You travel in a 4x4 safari vehicle with an open roof, with a professional driver-guide, and sleep at campsites on the first three nights. The days are built around game drives and wildlife viewing. The highlights include baobab trees, elephants, kopjes, the Serengeti migration and the chance to see the Big Five. Between the parks there is time on the road, and meals include picnic lunches. The trip begins and ends in Arusha. On the final night you stay in your own accommodation.
Our take
Expect early mornings and long hours in the vehicle, with nights at campsites rather than lodges. Your accommodation on the final night is your own to arrange.
Who it's for
This trip suits young adults and seniors who want a camping-based safari with a driver-guide and are comfortable with early starts and long drives. It is less suited to anyone who prefers short days or does not want to spend long stretches in a vehicle.
